A country style design of the house brings makes it more cozy. It gives a rustic, simple and conventional feel to your lovely home. As your guests enter your household, they will see that it's very welcoming, friendly, surreal and unpretentious. You can have it country from your gate to the kitchen and backyard. The kitchen would require you much time and effort to design it because it is the heart of every home. You can add one or two French door refrigerators. Your counter tops can be placed with ceramic tiles, slate or marble. You could even choose some hand painted tiles.

The dining room can be one of the most frequented parts of the house that people gather. It is where you get to have your family dinner. You get to enjoy a good meal with added long talks and laughter. You can even entertain your guests here. Try opting for a large rectangular table. This table can be made of the sturdiest wood in the market. It could be made of mahogany, pine, walnut and oak. Your chairs and benches could also be made of the same material as that of your table. In order for your dining area not to look blunt, you can put a corner cupboard or better yet, a plate rack or sideboard. This will not only be for aesthetic purpose but for storage purposes as well.

As for your bathroom, it should have neutral colors and tones. A color beige or mint green would be perfect. Go for antique looking lighting. A pin light with a color yellow tint would be nice. You can head to a flea market and purchase an antique reproduction cabinet. It would be elegant for your bathroom.

There may be a lot of costly appliances and furniture you have to buy. Some of which would be the French door refrigerators, claw foot tubs, sofa, beds with a good cushion and more wooden cabinets. Pulling off this look may be costly but definitely a good investment.

Modern Home Interior Design

If you want a house with chic, clean lines and a fresh, updated feel, you will probably enjoy the look of an ultra-modern home interior design. The primary benefit of this type of design is that it offers a wide variety of choices when it comes to colors, fabrics and decorations that you can use, making it easy for you to come up with an overall look that is truly your own.

The trademark look of modern home interior design is that of class and elegance without the frills and extravagance that designs of previous decades are known for. On the contrary, the furniture and architecture used in modern home interior design are very simple, to the point of being quite minimalist. The colors are very solid as well, and the shapes are mostly geometrical. Intricate designs and lavishly ornamental pieces are very rarely, if ever, found in modern home interior design.

A Contemporary Look

Most of the appliances and furniture used in modern design are made from a combination of stainless steel, glass, plastic and leather, making for a very contemporary look. However, wood elements are also a nice addition to any modern room. The rich, dark tones of walnut and mahogany can soften the atmosphere in the area and they complement the coldness of metal and other modern materials.

Speaking of metal, no modern home interior design is complete without its share of metallic elements. Stainless steel in undoubtedly the most popular choice today, perhaps because of the relatively low cost, but there are also other metals that work effectively in a modern environment. Brushed nickel cabinet handles and chrome floor lamps for instance, are always excellent highlights. In general, any metal that is sleek and shiny will be a perfect fit in any modern home.

Modern Theme Color

Color is another important factor that one should consider when designing a room or a home with a modern theme. A lot of people think that neutral colors are the best choice when it comes to modern design, but this doesn't always have to be the case. You can stick with a beige or gray wall but you can offset the coldness of this hue by bringing in a deep red couch or adding royal blue drapes to your windows. These colors will not take away from the modern look of the room at all, but they can certainly add much-needed drama to the area.

Interior Lighting

In addition to the furniture and accessories of a home, the interior lighting also plays a part in the overall interior design. In fact, it provides a huge impact to the look and feel of any room and pulls all other elements together. The lights can be designed to give as much or as little illumination as is needed, depending on the location and purpose of the room.

Light fixtures consist of units that are both built into the wall or on the ceiling (controlled by merely flicking a switch) or can be removable table or floor lamps which highlight the decor of the rooms they are placed in. Light design in a room can be created in many different ways to compliment a home's decor.

Natural light can be used to illuminate a room that has been specially arranged to capture the rays of the sun at different times of the day. Since the quality of this light source changes with the season and the weather, it will not be as consistent as other artificial sources, but it can be more dramatic than any other.

With the use of halogen spotlights and table lamps with opaque shades, you can create accent lighting in any room. With this type of interior lighting, an item, either architectural or an object such as a painting, will be highlighted with the light source which then creates a point of interest in the room.

Task lights are used for the practical purpose of illuminating areas of work such as in the kitchen, in a reading room or around a favorite reading chair, in a sewing room over the sewing machine, and even in the bath room to allow good interior lighting for the application of make-up or for shaving.

Ambient lights are those that are hidden from view and provide a soft wash over a room, almost like a glow. With this, very few shadows are cast and the room takes on a more flattened appearance. A dimmer switch can also be used to create the effect of ambient light, if only temporarily.

When designing with interior lighting, it is a good idea to select fixtures that have a more classic design as opposed to one that is hip or trendy. When this is done the decor of the room can be more easily updated by just purchasing different shades instead of switching out the fixture itself.

Be sure to change out older light bulbs and replace with the newer more energy efficient bulbs which are brighter, have a longer life and will help save our environment.

Kitchen Interior Design

Kitchen interior design is one of the most popular areas of interior design. It is also one of the most expensive rooms to re-design. Many people attempt to do it themselves when it comes to remodeling their kitchen. However, if you choose to hire an interior designer then be prepared to spend a lot more money.

Whether you do it yourself or hire a designer for your kitchen interior design, careful planning is needed to achieve the effect you are looking for in the design. If doing it yourself you must be aware of some of the biggest mistakes made by homeowners when re-designing their kitchen.

One of these mistakes in kitchen interior design is not taking advantage of the storage spaces in the kitchen. There should be approximately forty-eight to seventy-two inches of cabinets for dishes and glasses above your sink and dishwasher for convenience. There should be approximately forty-eight to seventy-two inches of cabinet space near your oven for holding the cooking dishes and supplies. Floor cabinets or base cabinets should be placed near the stovetop for pots and pans.

Another way to utilize space is to outfit blind corners with storage devices such as a Lazy Susan or something called a cookware caddie. Kitchen drawers can be fitted with dividers or full extension glides to make use of their space efficiently as well.

Another big mistake of kitchen interior design is installing an island that is just too big. Island countertops are a great addition to a kitchen but they should only be about thirty six to forty eight inches deep and about thirty six to one hundred and twenty inches wide. If you get into larger size islands they are just harder to use and a lot more work to clean.

One other big mistake that we will focus on is not enough light in the kitchen. Appropriate lighting for your kitchen workspaces would include halogen or fluorescent lighting. Not enough light in the kitchen will make it difficult to do your daily tasks. Kitchen interior designers insist that proper ventilation be added to ensure that offending odors and excess heat is removed from the home. Many do it yourself kitchen re-modelers neglect this important aspect of kitchen design.

The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your home. It also adds aesthetic and substantial value to your home. Therefore, a good kitchen design is extremely important. In today's fast-paced world, many families only see each other in the kitchen for a quick breakfast or dinner. If your kitchen is not functional then these important family meal times can be functionally difficult. Many people like to entertain and it is important for them to socialize with their family and friends while cooking a meal, which again results in the importance of kitchen interior design. The kitchen should be inviting and serve its purpose of providing a space to prepare and cook meals.

If you are planning on a complete kitchen interior design, whether doing it yourself or hiring a professional, make sure you get your plans in writing before beginning the transformation of your kitchen into something you would see on a television-remodeling program. Good luck with your new kitchen.
